ACEO

PearACEO stands for “Art Cards, Editions and Originals”. These cards have one main rule – they are 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches – the size of a trading card. This term was apparently coined on Ebay when people started selling ATCs (art trading cards) which were originally conceived to be traded only and never sold.

  1. Hello Sarah,
I’ve heard so much about ACEO’s that I’m picking a lot of interest in them. I’m trying to get into selling art online and have been a hard time figuring out the best size to paint that’ll sell low too.

I’ll like to ask a few questions though. Can any paper be used of is there a particular weight of paper. And how easily do ACEO’s sell online?

  2. There seem to be no rules as to the type of support for an ACEO but good sense suggests that they should be something fairly stiff without being too thick. Just about any medium is acceptable, including collage. I am not sure that soft pastels would be too good unless very well fixed.
There is quite a lot of information online but http://www.art-cards.org is pretty comprehensive.
