3.5″X2.5″ Acrylic on paper This isn’t a real bird but a Christmas ornament. It is one of those little ones made out of paper and feathers that you can buy in craft stores. For fun I have done a WIP here. I have been so busy with painting my house that I have been having trouble finding time to paint my pictures. I will probably do some oils tomorrow. [...] Just for fun I thought I would do a WIP on one of my daily paintings. This one is a watercolour pencil drawing taken from a rather poor photograph I took in Pennsylvania last week. Here is the original photograph. First of all I cropped it and used the “watercolour” filter in Photoshop to sharpen [...] 5″X7″ WC pencil on paper I think it was a savannah sparrow, it has the yellow eyebrow and the range is about right. He came and perched quite close to me in the long grass while I was eating my lunch. [...] 5″X7″ Graphitint on paper Back at work today. It’s late and I am tired so I just took an image from my morning at Port Dalhousie last week. Gulls always amuse me. 5″X7″ Graphitint on paper Another bitterly cold day, I wonder how the birds survive. They congregate by the hundreds on telephone wires and bare branches, backs to the wind. Then suddenly they will swarm up into the air, fly around for a few seconds and settle again. [...] 5″X7″ Graphitint on paper I don’t know what this barrel-like thing is. It sits in the middle of the canal just south of the Lakeshore bridge, by Port Weller Dry Docks. 5″X 7″ Oil on board I couldn’t bring myself to get rid if this little chap when my kids outgrew him. I was feeling lazy this evening and wanted something quick and easy. I found this image I took in Arizona last summer, four turtle doves in a century plant against a sky heavy with rain.
