5.5"X3.5" Pen & wash in moleskine

Still not very productive, maybe it is the weather but I can't seem to settle to anything. I have been doing some sketching and have just gotten around to scanning some of it, so I may post some over the next few days. I enjoy using this combination of fountain pen and waterbrush with a Staedtler pigment liner. It seems to suit my need for simplicity right now.

I have almost finished painting the house, just finishing the back porch right now. There is still that bathroom dormer that I am trying not to think about. As far as I can see it can only be reached by standing on the 45 degree angle of the roof. It isn't so much the getting up there as the getting down again that bothers me. To paraphrase Rincewind " it isn't so much the heights that bother me as the depths".

Shasta Daisies on the patio. Not much to say really.

I have been wasting far too much time this evening playing with the new Picassa face recognition programme. My husband, the Mac man, says that Apple has had this for a while, but it is new to me. It is uncannily accurate some of the time but has a lot of difficulty with my sons. Like the rest of the world, it doesn't seem to be able to tell them apart. Most of the time I don't have any difficulty, even fuzzy little images with half of the face missing. Sometimes even I can't manage it though, so I just guess and come back to it later.

And now for something completely different. Sometimes it is good to use this continuous line technique just to loosen up. I may be doing more of these when I have very limited time like right now. Going to Connecticut tomorrow, seven hour drive, so I won’t be painting much.

5″X7″ Oil on board

Busy day, back to work tomorrow, kids go to school. I managed to finish the east wall of the house, not as much as I hoped to achieve, but not too bad. I may try for the west wall too, but I really should spend some time working on the windows and other finish-up projects.
